An Innovative and rapidly expanding international FinTech group providing integrated financial, Cryptoasset and lifestyle services via an internally developed tech platform, are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a growing Finance function here in the UK.
Accounting
● Managing the month end close process, which would include preparation and posting of month end adjustments;
● Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled, and any issues are identified and corrected;
● Ensure that Invoices and Expenses are accurately accounted for, authorised and paid in a timely manner;
● Ensure that all bank payments and receipts are accounted for accurately and that bank reconciliations are performed in a timely manner;
● Manage intercompany invoicing, posting and reconciliation;
● Maintain the Fixed Asset register; and
Post payroll journals.
Financial and management reporting
● Oversee the preparation of monthly management reporting and assisting with routine Board reporting;
● Assist with budget and forecasting processes; and
● Manage the year end audit process and preparation of annual Statutory Accounts.
Finance policies, procedures and controls
● Ensure that Finance policies and procedures are kept up to date;
● Manage cash flow requirements. Ensure that payments to key vendor and payments on behalf of customers are paid daily on a timely basis and assist the Financial Operations team with any payment queries;
● Monitor bank balances and ensure funds are held in the necessary bank accounts to fulfil payment requests; and
● Complete regulatory reporting as needed. Review e-money calculations on a daily basis and arrange for the necessary inter account bank transfers to be done on a timely basis.
Financial systems
● Maintain the books and records in the group ERP system; and
● Assist with finance systems improvements and automation projects as needed.
Other
● Prepare and submit quarterly VAT Returns and assist with the preparation of the annual corporation tax returns;
● Direct, train and develop more junior finance staff;
● Business partner with other departments on business projects as needed; and
● Assist with ad-hoc project work, working closely with the Group FC and CFO.
Qualifications:
● University degree or equivalent;
● Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with relevant 2+ years’ Post Qualified Experience (PQE);
Experience:
● Trained within a Top Ten accounting practice (preferable Big 4) and will have gained experience of leading small finance teams;
● Relevant regulated financial services / fintech experience, payments and / or cryptoassets is an advantage, as is safeguarding / client money and assets experience;
● Strong experience in IFRS and UK GAAP; and
● Comfortable in a rapidly growing and changing tech-focused group with a flat management structure and dynamic culture.
Specific skills:
● Strong financial accounting knowledge and sound understanding of financial processes and controls;
● Previous experience using NetSuite or similar ERP system;
● Strong communicator and a team player; and
● Highly organised with a high attention to detail and a genuine drive and commitment to produce high quality work and take personal responsibility for the entities under their responsibility.
